Always looking for new and exciting ways to make your local library accessible, the Friends of the Boca Raton Public Library have funded a library mobile van, to be ready and rolled out by Spring 2020.
2020 marks the 30th anniversary of the Friends partnership with the library, and the library mobile van is our gift to honor this partnership. After envisioning this project and working with a cooperative team, the Friends received approval from the City Council on September 24, 2019, for this donation gift and the purchase of the library van.
With the library mobile van, complete with WiFi and a charging station, residents will have more opportunities to interact with the library. The vehicle will ensure more access to library materials and services, library card sign-ups, participation in community and City events with mobile library activities, and more.
But the best part about is that the library mobile van will reach residents who cannot easily access the Boca Raton Public Library. The vehicle will help with events and community engagement by providing events, programs, and library materials and services to residents with limitations that affect their accessibility to the library.
While the goal of the library mobile van is to bring more awareness about the library and its services, the mobile library will also bring the community closer by helping build trustworthy relationships between the residents and community organizations.
With new technology and more accessibility to make your use of the local library and its many services more fun and engaging, the library van is set to change the way you interact with books and with your community.
